First off, I hope all is well! Secondly, thank you for reading this and for supporting The Friday Fix.

For the month of August, let’s take a look at opposites and use them as inspiration to write some microfiction.

In your story responses, you’ll need to think about two specific words and consider which one provides a stronger pull. You’re even allowed to blur the lines and write about both. Don’t worry, there’s no right or wrong approach here — no incorrect path to take.

With that said…which one will you choose?

Story Prompt for Friday, August 21st, 2020

Our opposites for this week are forget and remember.

Prompt: write a fifty-word story that does one of the following:

  • ties into or relates to the idea of forget
  • ties into or relates to the idea of remember
  • involves both ideas (forget and remember), somehow

As long as your story lands in the ballpark, it will be considered for publication on August 21st.

As always, please leave a comment or question if you need anything.

More importantly, have fun — and happy writing!

A few quick notes regarding submissions:

Unfortunately, not all submissions will be accepted.

Moving forward, we will start to put a cap on how many stories can be published on Fridays. For now, our absolute maximum is fifty “fifties” on Fridays, but this could (and probably will) change to a much smaller number as time moves on.

Please remember to carefully proofread submissions before sending them to The Friday Fix. Stories with an abundance of glaring errors will be rejected.

Thank you!
